Tb mtb test
WebPolymerase Chain Reaction aka PCR is one of the most promising test to diagnose TB. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria named Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). PCR is a simple and rapid test used for detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis because it amplifies a DNA sequence which is unique to mycobacteria. Webcobas® MTB includes a dual-target approach for detection of M. tuberculosis. Selective amplification of target nucleic acid from the sample is achieved by the use of target-specific forward and reverse primers for the MTB complex which are selected from highly-conserved regions within the respective target organism.
