WebPhonics- Intent, Implementation and Impact Intent Implementation Impact At St George and St Martin, we want all pupils to become confident and fluent readers who are instilled with a lifelong love of reading. We strongly hold the belief that reading is an essential skill that not only allows access to the curriculum but also the wider world. WebPhonics (RWI) is taught daily to all children in Foundation Stage, and Year 1. The programme is continued in year 2 for those children who are still on it. Staff systematically teach learners the relationship between sounds and the written spelling patterns, or graphemes, which represent them.
